Emperor Sigismund (15 February 1368 – 9 December 1437) is a cavalry hero unit in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Dawn of the Dukes. He is based on the eponymous Holy Roman Emperor. Sigismund was one of the driving forces behind the Council of Constance (1414–1418) that ended the Papal Schism, but which also led to the Hussite Wars that dominated the later period of his life. In 1433, Sigismund was crowned Holy Roman Emperor and ruled until his death in 1437.
As the main antagonist in the Jan Zizka campaign, he appears in dialogues in several scenarios of the campaign, yet his unit does not appear.
In the game his model is identical to a Frankish Paladin. As a hero, he cannot be converted and can regenerate health.
