—Bast upon casting Eclipse |
Eclipse is an Egyptian god power in Age of Empires: Mythologies that is available to worshipers of Bast. When cast, it blankets the battlefield in darkness, which strengthens myth units and prevents the use of all other god powers for four turns.
Strategy[]
Similar to its Age of Mythology counterpart, Eclipse is useful in preventing the enemy of casting deadly god powers such as Meteor Shower or Lightning Storm, buying the player more time to defend or for them to defeat them altogether. Eclipse also prevents the player and their allies from using their own god powers however so careful planning is required before casting it. During its duration, friendly myth units also have their attack boosted by 30%. To make the most of this bonus, players are advised to mass produce myth units and then cast Eclipse just as a battle is about to begin so that the maximum amount of damage is dealt.
This god power works especially well for players who manage to collect the Pandora's Box relic as they will instantly be granted an army of super-powered myth units. While doing so also converts the enemy's soldiers into myth units they do not gain an attack bonus from Eclipse and will have a difficult time defending against Bast's heroes who automatically gain additional attack and movement.
