Datis is a cavalry hero in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Chronicles: Battle for Greece. He has a unique model. As a hero, he cannot be converted and can regenerate health.

He is a deuteragonist in the first few scenarios of the Achaemenid act of the Battle for Greece campaign, and a protagonist of one of the scenarios. In the Athenian act of the campaign, he is an antagonist in the first few scenarios.
- Prologue: Gates of the Gods: Datis is one of the commanders leading the Persian siege of Babylon. He is joined by Artaphernes, with whom he overcomes the Babylonian resistance and retakes the city.
- Greeks Bearing Gifts: Datis arrives with a group of previously-chosen bodyguard units from the northeast to help Artaphernes protect the Persian convoys.
- The Ionian Revolt, A City Ablaze, Chasing Smoke, Death to Traitors: Datis leads the Persian forces alongside Artaphernes.
- Earth and Water: Datis is a leader of the Persian invasion force that conquers the Greek islands in the Aegean.
- The Battle of Marathon: Datis leads the Persian invasion of Greece, first sacking Eretria and then fighting the Athenian forces at Marathon.
- The Hot Gates: Raider Overseers leading the Persian forces at Thermopylae are renamed Datis.

Datis or Datus was a Median general who served under the Achaemenid Emperor Darius during the Ionian Revolt and the First Persian invasion of Greece, alongside Artaphernes.
