โ€œ Your insolence is punished! Feel the curse of Poseidon! โ€
—Poseidon upon casting Cursed Voyage

Cursed Voyage is a Greek god power in Age of Empires: Mythologies available to worshipers of Poseidon. It causes enemy units to become weaker.

Strategy[]

When cast, Cursed Voyage reduces the attack and defense of all enemy units by 50% and 20% respectively. Because it's available in Age I and lasts four turns, it can serve many purposes. Should the player be attacked before they have sufficient forces available to fight back, Cursed Voyage will weaken the enemy and make their attack less devastating. The main counter to Cursed Voyage is to simply retreat until the god power expires. This buys the player more time to regroup their forces or even send their Architects to build Mills or Mines in areas that would have been previously too hazardous to enter.

On a more offensive side, Cursed Voyage simply serves as a means to give the player an advantage in combat, allowing their forces to mop up enemies and press onward towards their town. Keeping track of how many turns have passed is important as players will need to choose which enemy unit they should kill before they all regain their strength. Cursed Voyage also affects rogue myth units found on skirmish maps, and players may use the opportunity to attack them in order to obtain relics without sustaining as much damage. In any case, it should be cast at the beginning of the player's turn.
