—Dialogue in A New Home |
The Cuman Chief is a cavalry hero in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. It resembles a Steppe Lancer mixed with its Elite version (with a unique barding, a shield on its back, and a larger caparison).
Like other heroes, the unit is immune to conversion and can regenerate health.

History[]
The fundamental unit of Cuman society was the family, made up of blood relatives. A group of families formed a clan, led by a Chief; a group of clans formed a tribe, led by a Khan. A typical Cuman clan was named after an object, animal, or a leader of the clan. The names of the leaders of clans or tribes sometimes ended in "apa/aba".
