The Classical Age is the third Age in Chronicles. It is preceded by the Civic Age and is followed by the Imperial Age. It corresponds to the Castle Age in Age of Empires II.

- Academy - building to research and upgrade structures and missiles
- Temple - trains and upgrades Priestesses
- Town Center1 - trains and upgrades Villagers
- The Town Center is also a defensive structure.
Military buildings[]
- Fort1 - trains and upgrades unique units and siege units
- Siege Workshop - trains and upgrades siege units
- The Fort is also a defensive structure.
Defensive structures[]
- Guard Tower1 - Tower that attacks enemies on sight
- Fortified Wall1 - protects an area from enemy attacks
- The Guard Tower and the Fortified Wall have to be researched at the Academy.

- Priestess - special unit used for healing, converting enemies, and gathering Relics
Military units[]
At the Barracks:
- Swordsman (upgrade of Maceman) - anti-infantry unit
- Guardsman (upgrade of Spearman) - anti-cavalry unit
- Hoplite (Athenians and Spartans only) → Elite Hoplite (Spartans only) - heavy infantry unit
At the Archery Range:
- Laminated Bowman (upgrade of Bowman) - basic foot archer unit
- Elite Skirmisher (upgrade of Skirmisher) - anti-archer foot archer unit
- Cavalry Archer - mounted archer unit
At the Stable:
- Light Cavalry (upgrade of Scout Cavalry) - light and quick scouting unit, also good against siege weapons and Priestesses
- Lancer - heavy cavalry unit
- War Chariot (Achaemenids only)
At the Fort:
- Unique unit - a special unit only one civilization can train
At the Siege Workshop:
- Battering Ram - anti-building siege unit that is almost immune to missiles
- Mangonel - ranged siege unit with splash attack
- Scorpion - ranged siege unit with pass-through attack along a line
- Siege Tower - siege unit that can drop off units behind walls
At the Port:
- Heavy Lembos (upgrade of War Lembos) - fast scouting ship with a flamethrower
At the Shipyard:
- War Galley (upgrade of Galley) - basic war ship with a ranged attack
- Incendiary Ship (upgrade of Incendiary Raft) - self-destructive vessel
- Bireme (upgrade of Monoreme) - melee ship with a charged attack
- Catapult Ship - siege ship with a splash attack

- Town Patrol - increases building Line of Sight
- Hand Cart - makes Villagers more effective
At the Mill:
- Heavy Plow - gives Farms extra food and farmers +1 carry capacity
At the Lumber Camp:

- Stone Shaft Mining - increases stone-mining speed
- Gold Shaft Mining - increases gold-mining speed
At the Market:
At the Port:
- Scoop Nets - increases the working rate of Fishing Ships

- Masonry - strengthens buildings
- Treadmill Crane - increases construction speed of villagers
Military technologies[]
At the Barracks:
- Baggage Carriers - increases infantry speed by 10%
- Arson - gives infantry +2 attack against buildings
At the Archery Range:
- Thumb Ring - increases archer accuracy to 100% and rate of fire
At the Stable:
- Husbandry - increases cavalry speed by 10%
At the Port:
- Drums - increases the speed of all ships except Incendiary Rafts by +15%
At the Shipyard:
- Hypozomata - increases ship pierce armor by 1
At the Blacksmith:
- Iron Casting - increases infantry and cavalry attack by +1
- Chain Mail Armor - increases infantry armor by +1/+1
- Bodkin Arrow - projectiles' range and attack increased by +1
- Leather Archer Armor - increases archer armor by +1/+1
- Chain Barding Armor - increases cavalry armor by +1/+1
At the Academy:
- Target Practice - increases accuracy when projectiles are fired at moving targets
- Murder Holes - removes minimum range of Forts and towers
- Lighthouse - increases Fort and tower attack against ships
At the Fort:
- Unique technology1 - special technology that only one civilization can research (choice of two per civilization)
- Not all unique technologies are military technologies.
At the Town Center:
- Skeuophoroi (Spartans only)
Religious technologies[]
At the Temple:
- Evocatio - Priestesses can convert siege units and most buildings
- Fervor - increases Priestess speed
- Apotropaic Magic - increases Priestess hit points
- Syncretism - Priestesses can convert other Priestesses
- Hemlock (die upon getting converted) - converted units die instead of falling under enemy control
- Herbal Medicine - garrisoned units heal faster
