Circumnavigation is a technology in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition introduced with the upcoming naval rework that is unique to the Portuguese. It can be researched at the Castle once the Castle Age is reached. Once researched, all ships train +33% faster, and the entire map gets explored (but not revealed) automatically. With its release, it replaces the previous Castle Age Portuguese unique technology Carrack.
