| “ | Villagers gather Wood extremely fast. | ” |
| —In-game description | ||
Circular Saw is a technology in Age of Empires III that can be researched by European and Federal American civilizations at the Market once the Fortress Age is reached and Log Flume is researched. Once researched, it allows villagers to gather wood from trees and Mango Groves 30% faster.
Overview[]
Although Circular Saw is the most expensive technology at the Market, particularly with its cost of 480 coin, it benefits the overall economy of a civilization in the long run once researched. As the other two resources do not get a third upgrade, this allows the wood collection rate to go from the lowest rate to surpass that of mining. This can permit the long term collection of wood for Estates and late game unit upgrades (usually crates are used for quicker expenses such as additional Town Centers).
