—Map description |
China is a Real World random introduced in Age of Empires II HD: The African Kingdoms. It depicts the area of today's eastern China, and includes the East and South China Sea as well as the islands Formosa (Taiwan) and Hainan.
Overview[]
China is an open map, with lots of free spaces between the pine and bamboo forests. The great rivers of China, the Yellow River, the Yangtze and the Pearl River, divide the lands, but are passable over the shallows of which there are plenty. The map is very flat as the Plateau of Tibet is not included. The sea is rich with fish, but there is little tactical advantage to building a navy, other than to disrupt enemy fishing operations, or obtain the Gold and Stone Mines of the islands of Taiwan and Hainan.
Environment[]
The map is covered with bamboo and pine trees, and players can encounter Deer, Wild Boars, and Sheep. The southeast is grassy land, while the northwest is desert, with dirty terrain in between.
