Strategy[]
Hussars of Death are the unique unit of Chile revolution.
Chile is a revolution exclusive to the Spanish. Like most revolutions included in the Definitive Edition, picking it can be a finishing move, as Chile turns Settlers into Revolutionaries while shipping 8 Hussars of Death and improving already existing Hussars to Hussars of Death.
The Spanish should prefer Chile if they focus on spamming Hussars, due to the strength of unlocking Hussars of Death.
While revolts tend to be better on maps with water, because they often get infinite naval shipments and infinite Fort shipments (Forts have a powerful anti-ship attack), and Chile gets a lot of water-related cards, it faces heavy competition from Gran Colombia's strength on water. Thus, it is probably better to revolt into Gran Columbia instead of Chile in this situation.
Hussars of Death make Chile an excellent option for open maps, as their mobility and attack enables for fast raids against opponents' settlements. Chile also has access to Mapuche Bolas Riders shipments and can train them at the Stable and Native Embassy. Mapuche Bolas Riders' attack slows down enemy units and have multipliers against cavalry, which makes them a good complement for Chilean cavalry.
Chile could be the late-game strategy for a outlaw/mercenary strategy, as Salitrera makes good use of all the Estates likely to be built for that purpose. Additionally, it can include a normally trained unit, as Hussars of Death get all their unit upgrades for free. However, an outlaw/mercenary strategy is not common for the Spanish, and Chile is not available for civilizations known for strong mercenary strategies like the Germans.
