Cheat code (Age of Mythology)

This article is about the cheat codes in Age of Mythology. For cheat codes in other games of the series, see Cheat code.

All cheat codes that are available in Age of Mythology and its expansions are listed here.

To activate a cheat code, press Enter, type in the cheat code into the Chat Box, and press Enter again. Cheat codes are case-sensitive and must be entered in CAPITAL LETTERS. Cheat codes do not work in the demo version of Age of Mythology. In Retold, cheat codes are no longer case-sensitive.

Except for those added in the Extended Edition and Tale of the Dragon, cheat codes are available in all subsequent versions once introduced to the game.

Age of Mythology[]

`UNCERTAINTY AND DOUBT`	Hides map.
`THRILL OF VICTORY`	Instantly wins the game.
`CHANNEL SURFING`	Skips to the next scenario in the campaign.
`L33T SUPA H4X0R`	Massively speeds up all time-based functions for all players, making them almost instantaneous.
`LETS GO! NOW!`	Fast game speed. (Note there were two spaces between GO! and NOW originally but no longer in Retold.)
`CONSIDER THE INTERNET`	Slow game speed.
`DIVINE INTERVENTION`	Renews god power usage or adds an extra use to all god powers in The Titans.
`PANDORAS BOX`	Grants 4 random god powers.
`WRATH OF THE GODS`	Grants the Lightning Storm, Earthquake, Meteor and Tornado god powers with unlimited uses.
`GOATUNHEIM`	Grants the Goatunheim god power. Turns all units on the map into Goats.
`FEAR THE FORAGE`	Grants the Walking Berry Bushes god power. Like Walking Woods but works only on Berry Bushes.
`BAWK BAWK BOOM`	Grants the Chicken Storm god power. Rains down explosive chickens, similar to Meteor.
`I WANT TEH MONKEYS!!!1!`	Spawns 100 Monkeys at the Town Center. In Retold, it spawns 100 Monkeys of Set instead.
`WUV WOO`	Spawns a Flying Purple Hippo at the Town Center.
`TINES OF POWER`	Spawns a Forkboy at the Town Center.
`O CANADA`	Spawns a Lazer Bear at the Town Center.
`ISIS HEAR MY PLEA`	Spawns the heroes from the Fall of the Trident campaign at the Town Center. The heroes are Arkantos, Amanra, Ajax, Odysseus, Chiron, Eitri, Brokk, Reginleif, and Setna.
`SET ASCENDANT`	Gives the player control of all Mother Nature units on the map, including huntable animals, herdable animals, Tartarian Spawns, Skraelings, Shades of Erebus, and units affected by Chaos.
`RED TIDE`	Turns the water red which kills all the fish.
`MR. MONDAY`	Gives Titan AI 1000% handicap. (In Retold it is written as `MR.MONDAY`.)
`ENGINEERED GRAIN`	Instantly fattens herd animals.
`IN DARKEST NIGHT`	Cycles through four different light settings.

The Titans[]

Code	Description
`ZENOS PARADOX`	Similar to `PANDORAS BOX`, but with Atlantean God Powers included.
`TINFOIL HAT`	Ownership of all units on the map are randomized.
`TITANOMACHY`	Spawns a Titan at the Town Center.
`RESET BUTTON`	All buildings on the map become deconstructed.
`ATLANTIS REBORN`	Spawns the heroes from The New Atlantis campaign at the Town Center. The heroes are Kastor, Amanra, Ajax, and King Folstag.
`BARKBARKBARKBARKBARK`	Spawns Bella at the Town Center.

Extended Edition[]

The following cheat codes are not available in Retold.

Code	Description
`NINJACONNOR`	100,000 of each resource type, sets population limit to 300 (or to the maximum population cap available with a modified game2.8.cfg), unlimited god power uses, 100x build/research speeds.
`WRATH OF CYCLONE`	Turns all players' units into mighty Titans (only in patch 2.8).

Exclusive to Tale of the Dragon's patch 2.8[]

The following cheat codes are not available in Retold.

Code	Description
`POWERS FROM DIYU`	Similar to `PANDORAS BOX` and `ZENOS PARADOX`, but with Chinese God Powers included.
`BLESS ME FU XI`	Spawns all Tale of the Dragon heroes at the Town Center. The heroes are Jiao-Long, Shun, Zhi, and Danzhu.
`TITANIC`	Titans can walk on water.
`WOLOLO`	Chinese Monks play the wololo sound effect from Age of Empires when they convert enemy units.

Retold[]

Code	Description
`STONKS`	Adds 10,000 Food, Wood, Gold and Favor to the player's bank.
`DEVASD`	Grants 10,000 of each resource. All construction, research, and training happens near-instantly. Population is set to 200. God powers unlimited Reveals the entire map and disables Fog of War. Spawns three UFOs at the Town Center. Scout units as well as Pharaohs have ×5.08 speed.
`ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US`	Spawns a UFO at the Town Center.
`FOOTY`	Spawns a Football that can be kicked by a Mountain Giant, and a Mountain Giant.
`PIECE CARTS?`	Spawns the god Osiris at the Town Center and makes him bigger.
`KRO NO!`	Spawns the titan god Kronos at the Town Center and makes him bigger. Also raises his hack damage to 500 (up from 50) and crush damage to 700 (up from 70)
`BIG PROMO`	Spawns the titan god Prometheus at the Town Center and makes him bigger.
`MOTHER NATURE`	Spawns the titan god Gaia at the Town Center and makes her bigger.
`GREEK TO ME`	Grants 4 random Greek god powers (one for each age).
`N.D. NILE`	Grants 4 random Egyptian god powers (one for each age).
`OF NORSE NOT!`	Grants 4 random Norse god powers (one for each age).
`HOTLANTIS`	Grants 4 random Atlantean god powers (one for each age).
`ZAP EM`	Idle Villagers get bolted after 15 seconds.
`METEOR ROULETTE`	Immediately hit a random player/AI-controlled unit on the map with a Meteor, move the camera to that position so the player can watch.
`CLEAR SKIES`	Removes the black map and disables Fog of War too (thus making everything fully visible). If activated again, re-enables black map and Fog of War.
`MEGA MYTHS`	Increases the size of all current Myth Units by 10% (can be used repeatedly).

Immortal Pillars[]

Code	Description
`GIVE YOU SOME COLOR TO SEE SEE`	Grants 4 random Chinese god powers (one for each age).
`GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE`	Spawns the heroes from the Pillars of the Gods campaign at the Town Center. The heroes are Yan Feifeng, Cangjie and Houyi.
`LEGEND OF CHIYOU`	Spawns the god Chiyou at the Town Center and makes him bigger.
`PANDATOPIA`	Grants the Pandatopia god power. Turns all units on the map into Pandas.

Heavenly Spear[]

Code	Description
`SHINTO SHUFFLE`	Gain four random Japanese god powers (one for Age 1, 2, 3, and 4). Replaces any existing god powers.
`SHINOBI WAN KENOBI`	Spawns a very powerful Shinobi named Shinobi Wan Kenobi.
`DANK MEMES`	Transforms every unit into a Kappa.
`OMAE WA MOU SHINDEIRU`	All enemy military units are blasted as if hit by a shockwave, then instantly die.
`GOTTA CATCH EM ALL`	Grants 1 of every unit tagged as LogicalTypeTrainableMythUnit.
`YOUR RELIC IS IN ANOTHER TEMPLE`	Spawns 5 random Relics outside the player’s Temple (they spawn ungarrisoned).
`HEAVENLY HOST`	Summons all Japanese campaign Heroes.
`SHUKAKU`	Summons the Tanuki unit.

Trivia[]

In older versions of the game, cheat codes that spawn units at the Town Center will not work if the player's only Town Center has been upgraded to a Citadel Center. This issue does not exist in Retold.
If the player is in the Wonder Age and uses any cheats that provide god powers, the new god powers will not benefit from the Wonder Age cost and cooldown reductions. Likewise, if they already researched Secrets of the Titans beforehand, the Titan Gate will become inaccessible.
- To alleviate the issue of the Wonder Age cost and cooldown reductions not applying to god powers acquired via cheats, the player must deliberately lose their Wonder and rebuild it. They must avoid using any god power cheats afterwards.
The game files for Retold hint at another cheat unit named Death Tower. This is not present in the final release.
The IN DARKEST NIGHT cheat is a reference to Green Lantern.
The RED TIDE cheat is most likely a reference to the biblical first Plague of Egypt, which turned the water in the Nile to blood and killed all the fish.
The cheat code GOATUNHEIM is a wordplay on Jotunheim.
The cheat code GIVE YOU SOME COLOR TO SEE SEE is based on Hong Kong slang, originally from Chinese "給你點顏色看看". It is an idiom that means "I will teach you a lesson".
The cheat codes introduced in Heavenly Spear makes references to Japanese pop culture (particularly anime):
- The cheat code DANK MEMES is a reference to internet meme culture where the meme is considered very popular or overused. The cheat code turning every unit into a Kappa is a reference to the namesake meme that is also an emoticon on Twitch.
- The cheat code OMAE WA MOU SHINDEIRU (お前はもう死んでいる) translates to "You are already dead", and is a reference to the famous catchphrase of Kenshiro in Fist of the North Star; the cheat code's effect is a reference to how Kenshiro defeats his opponents.
- The cheat code GOTTA CATCH EM ALL is a reference to the famous catchphrase from the Pokémon anime and manga series.
- The cheat code YOUR RELIC IS IN ANOTHER TEMPLE is a reference to the quote, "Our princess is in another castle!", from the 1985 Nintendo game Super Mario Bros.
- The cheat code SHINOBI WAN KENOBI is a pun on the name of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars film franchise, which takes inspirations from samurai films.
- The cheat code SHUKAKU is a refence to the namesake Tanuki in Naruto.
