Chain Mail Archers is a technology in Age of Empires that can be researched at the Storage Pit once the Iron Age is reached. Once researched, it increases the armor of all archer units by +2, giving them more resistance to melee attacks.
It is available to all civilizations except the Carthaginians, Choson, and Phoenicians.
Before Return of Rome, Chain Mail Archers was also required for the Heavy Horse Archer upgrade in the Iron Age.

- Researching Chain Mail Archers is not required to upgrade Horse Archers to Heavy Horse Archers.
- Babylonians: Upon release, Chain Mail Archers was removed from the technology tree. With hotfix 85208, it is readded.
