—Hermes upon casting Ceasefire

Ceasefire is a Greek god power in Age of Empires: Mythologies available to worshipers of Hermes. It halts all combat across the map.

Strategy[]

Ceasefire works similarly to its Age of Mythology counterpart, as it prevents units of all players from fighting for three turns (per player). However, it has the added effect of increasing the Movement of the player's units by 4. This can be used to stop an enemy ambush and provided the player ample amount of time to regroup and defend a friendly town. At the same time, players should make the most of Ceasefire by training more units and purchasing as many researches as possible. They should as well ensure that their Priests are healing as many wounded units as possible. This will enable them to attack with greater strength once battle resumes. This can also apply if an ally is in danger, but players should be careful to not thwart their attempt at defeating a foe.

Ceasefire does have an unusual effect on the AI however. Regardless of who casts the power, the AI may not train additional units or buildings at all. As long as the path is clear, the player may take advantage of this by arranging their troops around their towns in order to attack it with everything they have once the opportunity comes up.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike in Age of Mythology, this Ceasefire does not prevent the construction of towers.
