Ceasefire is a Greek Classical Age god power in Age of Mythology that is available to worshipers of Hermes. When invoked, it prevents combat from occurring for a one-minute duration. Fortress and tower construction is slowed down while in effect. Other god powers can still be invoked, however.
Before Retold, it prevents all player-controlled units from attacking other player-controlled units, except for workers attacking animals. Therefore, villagers can hunt wild animals and be attacked by them in return. Villagers can also attack Animals of Set, but they cannot fight back against the villagers during Ceasefire.
Effect[]
For 30 seconds, Ceasefire prevents combat actions between players, disables the hunting actions against huntable animals and Animals of Set, and increases the build time of towers, Fortress-type buildings and walls by 100%.
Only one instance of Ceasefire can be active at a time.
For 60 seconds, Ceasefire prevents combat actions between players and stops the construction of towers and Fortress-type buildings. However, this does not disable the hunting actions of workers against huntable animals and Animals of Set.
Only one instance of Ceasefire can be active at a time.Further statistics[]

Strategy[]
Ceasefire is good for dealing with god powers that enhance an opponent's army such as Flaming Weapons or Bronze, or countering limited-duration units such as those invoked from Ancestors and Earth Dragon. It is also effective for when a player is caught off-guard by an attack and needs to buy some time to escape or form a counterattack. In team battles, Ceasefire is useful for helping a defenseless player by buying time to send troops over to help the player in trouble. The god power's duration is also ideal for scouting out enemy bases or positioning an army in preparation to attack the enemy where they are more vulnerable.
In theTale of the Dragon expansion, Ceasefire also has the added effect of stopping Chinese Monks from converting units. With the introduction of the Physician, the player may also use this power to bring back their troops at full health. Furthermore, Ceasefire does not block the damaging effect of Zhong Kui's Uproot god power, so these two god powers can be used in tandem in team games.
Since Retold, Ceasefire is an effective counter to Fimbulwinter, as it prevents the spawned Fimbulwinter Wolves from attacking long enough before the latter god power ends.
