Strategy[]
Catapults have a very long range and a high attack making them excellent building-killers. A small group will destroy a building in seconds and their long range prevents units from counter-attacking easily. They are also deadly against ships, dealing bonus damage to them. However, they should still be escorted by other units as they still have low hack armor and are slow, leaving them vulnerable to cavalry or other melee units. Since Retold, they are also doubly vulnerable to units that deal both hack and crush damage simultaneously, such as Fire Giants and Scarabs. To remedy this, Ra and Isis players can worship Hathor/Sobek in the Heroic Age and train Rocs to transport Catapults faster around the map. Leviathans can also be used to transport Catapults around the waters.

History[]
โ | Catapults were invented by the Greeks for use as artillery on the battlefield or during a siege. By creating tension by pulling back large bow-like arms or twisting cordage made of hides or hair, a great throwing force could be achieved. Catapults could throw a stone weighing over 10 pounds to a range of nearly 1500 feet. | โ |
