| —Age of Empires IV description | ||
The Castle is a powerful defensive structure in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend that is unique to the Japanese and Sengoku Daimyo and becomes available once the Imperial Age is reached. It has 5 armor points against torch attacks. In addition to its regular rocket attack, which does not require garrisoned units, it can be upgraded with additional weapon emplacements and fires one additional arrow per garrisoned unit.
It fills the same role as the Keep that is available to most other civilizations, while having more hit points, but costing both wood and stone, firing only a single high-damage projectile (while ungarrisoned), and being available only in the Imperial Age.
Abilities and influences[]
Castle of the Crow Aura (Passive,
Sengoku Daimyo, requires Castle of the Crow): All ranged siege engines within a 15-tile radius of the Castle gain +10% damage and +1 range. This enhancement does not affect Battering Rams, and the damage boost does not affect bonus damage.
