Carronade is a technology in Age of Empires III that can be researched at the Dock once the Colonial Age is reached. Once researched, it increases the attack of warships by 25%. For European and Native American civilizations, Percussion Lock is the further upgrade of this technology.

Strategy

Carronade is exceptionally useful for ships with high attack such as Frigates and Privateers. Since the AI never research this technology, it can give the player an edge in naval combat.
