Canted Saddles is a unique technology in Age of Empires IV available to the French and Jeanne d'Arc that can be researched at the Stable or at the Royal Institute (for -30% cost) starting in the Castle Age. It increases Royal Knights' bonus damage after charging by 7, bringing it to a total of 10.
It is also granted for free to Mercenary Royal Knights for the Byzantines when they advance to the Imperial Age with the Foreign Engineering Company.
Campaign version[]
Because the original four campaigns have not been rebalanced since the release of the game, in The Hundred Years War, Cantled Saddles has different stats. It costs 50 food, 300 gold, only increases damage after a charge by +5, and is researched at the Keep or Red Palace.
