This article is about the unit in Age of Empires II HD: The Forgotten. For the unit in Age of Empires III, see Canoe (Age of Empires III).

The Canoe is an untrainable warship introduced in Age of Empires II HD: The Forgotten. It is a small and light boat that fires two arrows at enemy targets, and has a slightly slower Rate of Fire than the Galley, but otherwise comparable range and speed. It is however very lightly armored and, at 70 HP, falls easily to enemy attacks.

Campaign appearances[edit | edit source]

Canoes cannot be built by the player, but they make several appearances in the campaigns, most notably in the El Dorado and Francisco de Almeida campaigns. They are used in the former by Native American civilizations and briefly in the latter by African tribes. Canoes are available in the Scenario Editor.

The Forgotten[edit | edit source]

Two notable appearances of Canoes in the El Dorado campaign are in The Split scenario, with Canoes belonging to the Imara, and in The Cannibals scenario, where the Negros cannibals actively guard their waters in the Amazon with Canoes.

The African Kingdoms[edit | edit source]

In the Lion of Africa scenario, the Guanches defend the natural resources of the Canary Islands with Gbetos and Skirmishers, and a few Canoes.

Rise of the Rajas[edit | edit source]

Another appearance of Canoes is in the The Mandalay Cobra scenario of the Bayinnaung campaign. They can be found close to gaia Toungoo Warriors and Dragon Ships, at the eastern side of the river that bisects the city of Pagan.
