Cangjie (倉頡) is a supporting character in the Pillars of the Gods campaign introduced in Age of Mythology: Retold - Immortal Pillars, advising and helping Yan Feifeng and Houyi. As a Sage hero, he is good against myth units and can heal friendly units. His unit appears in three forms: one as a foot soldier, another as a rider, and the last as a knife-wielding decorative unit.
Special ability[]
Sacred Hands (Passive): Can pick up Relics and deposit them at a Temple.- Divine Immunity (Passive): He cannot be targeted by god powers which target a single specific unit.
- Replicate (Charged): Target an enemy myth unit to stun it and summon a mirror image to temporarily fight for you. (Stuns target myth unit and spawns a friendly copy of it for 8 seconds. Recharge time: 60 seconds)
- Distributed Heal (Active, automatic): Heal an injured allied unit. Nearby units are healed at a reduced rate. (50% rate for non-idle units, 3 max passively healed units at successively halved rates)

The rider form of Cangjie appears in the intro cinematic of Reality's Collapse. This unit is purely decorative, having no attack or ability, with its icon being that of Yan Feifeng rather than Cangjie's. Instead of a horse or another living mount, he rides a Mechanical Ox Caravan.
Knife[]

Cangjie appears in this form in the outro of Reality's Collapse. He uses the knife to stab Yan Feifeng after he volunteers to go to the underworld to find the stones which Nüwa can use to repair the Celestial Pillars. This unit has no attack.

- Yan Feifeng, Houyi, and Cangjie can be spawned at the Town Center with the
GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKEcheat code. - In traditional artwork, Cangjie was often depicted with four eyes, with the second pair above the first. It is not known what this may have represented, or if the Chinese people of the time literally thought that he had four eyes. Modern interpretation may be inclined to believe that being "four-eyed" could be a metaphor for the usage of eyeglasses or reading lenses, but those would not see recorded usage in Chinese society until the 10th century, during the Song dynasty, far later than the time Cangjie supposedly lived in.
