Chronicles description

The Camel Raider is an untrainable camel cavalry unit in Chronicles: Battle for Greece. It is present in campaign scenarios and is available in the Scenario Editor.

Ability[]

  • Generates gold by killing military units, Priestesses, buildings, and civilian units (2, 2, 5, and 1 respectively)

Campaign appearances[]

Battle for Greece[]

  • Gates of the Gods: Camel Raiders can appear as mercenaries employed by Babylon that are bought off by the Persians.
  • A City Ablaze: A few Camel Raiders are located to the northwest outside the city limits, among the cliffs north of the Farmlands district. They will join the defense of the city upon being discovered.
  • Death to Traitors: The local Mercenaries train Camel Raiders from their Stable in their camp in the northeast. If not recruited or destroyed by Artaphernes, these will harass his armies on the paths that lead from the Achaemenid base to the towns of Myous and Pyrrha in the east.
  • The Hot Gates: Persian land forces at Thermopylae employ Camel Raiders.
  • Wrath of the Regent: Camel Raiders defend the entrance to the Acropolis of Byzantium.

Alexander the Great[]

  • The Battle of the Granicus: Camel Raiders are deployed by the Persian Army against the Macedonian forces of Alexander and Parmenion.
  • Unto the Breach: Camel Raiders are deployed by the Persian Army from their Stables in Halicarnassus.
  • Tyre Must Fall: Camel Raiders are employed by the Tyrians in their landing parties attempting to stop the Macedonian Bridge Engineers.
  • The Battle of Gaugamela: Camel Raiders are among the forces of Darius facing off against the Macedonian army.
  • The City at the End of the World: Camel Raiders are deployed by the Scythian Villages and the Royal Scythian Army, with those of the latter being renamed Elite Camel Riders. Additionally, once a Macedonian Embassy has been established in the westernmost of the Sogdian Towns, the player can hire a Sogdian Cavalry Regiment there, consisting of four Camel Raiders (renamed Sogdian Camel Riders) and two Sogdian Cataphracts.
  • A Voyage of Discovery: Camel Raiders guard the camps of some of the Hostile Tribes (Nomads).
  • Wrath: Camel Raiders guard the nearby Uxian Town that Alexander must take over to use as his base in the region. They are also among the forces of the Uxian Confederation, guarding their supply camps, as well as participating in the assault against the Macedonian Wonder at the end of the scenario. If the player completed all events in the previous scenario, they will also receive five Camel Raiders after capturing the Uxian Town.

Trivia[]

  • It is the only camel unit in Chronicles.
