The Burgrave Palace is a military landmark available to the Holy Roman Empire and Order of the Dragon in Age of Empires IV in the Feudal Age. It acts like an improved Barracks for both civilizations.
Holy Roman Empire[]
| “ | Acts as a Barracks that produces infantry 400% faster. Infantry gain +50% charge damage. | ” |
| —Age of Empires IV description for the Holy Roman Empire | ||
For the Holy Roman Empire, the Burgrave Palace works 400% faster. This means that it can produce the same amount of units as five Barracks in the same time period. It also researches Barracks technologies and upgrades (including unit upgrades) 400% faster. It also grants all melee infantry +50% charge attack damage*.

Tactics[]
For the Holy Roman Empire, the Burgrave Palace is intended to provide a strong military power spike in the Castle Age. It allows them to start massing upgraded Men-at-Arms immediately. Since the Holy Roman Empire can achieve faster Castle Age timings than many other civilizations, and that it can be difficult to counter Castle Age Men-at-Arms while in the Feudal Age, this landmark is typically used for an all-in Castle Age infantry timing push intended to overwhelm the opponent in their base before they hit Castle Age, or push back a Feudal Age rush and then counter-attack. However, it loses almost all its value beyond this initial spike, as it provides little benefit that cannot be replicated by simply building five Barracks, so a failed push will result in a significantly weaker economy than potentially could have been obtained using the Regnitz Cathedral. Additionally, enemies that are already in the Castle Age with access to Crossbowmen, or enemies with strong Feudal Man-at-Arms counters such as Musofadi Warriors, can completely shut down any Man-at-Arms timing push.
Order of the Dragon[]
| “ | Acts as a Barracks that produces units 35% faster and 35% cheaper. Researches technologies 35% faster. | ” |
| —Age of Empires IV description for the Order of the Dragon | ||
For the Order of the Dragon, the Burgrave Palace produces units only 35% faster, but also at a 35% discount. It also researches Barracks technologies 35% faster as well*.

Quantifying resources saved as resources generated[]
The Burgrave Palace trains units faster and cheaper. The savings of the units compared to producing elsewhere can be equated to generating resources over time as more units are being produced. If Military Academy is researched, the Burgrave Palace produces 33% faster, leading to a 33% increase in resources saved.
For the Gilded Spearman, producing from the Burgrave Palace saves 56 resources. Since it takes 13.3 seconds to train, constant production of the Gilded Spearman would save 252 resources per minute.
The Gilded Man-at-Arms saves 84 resources, taking 20 seconds to train, so it also saves 252 resources per minute. The Gilded Landsknecht saves 112 resources when produced from the Burgrave Palace, taking 20 seconds, meaning it would save 336 resources per minute if constantly producing.
Tactics[]
Since the production speed increase is much slower for the Order of the Dragon, and the Order cannot achieve as fast of a Castle Age timing as the Holy Roman Empire, the functionality of this landmark is quite different for the Order. Rather than using it for a Castle Age Man-at-Arms timing push, it can be seen as more of a low-risk economic boost that lasts through the whole game as long as they are supplementing their army with infantry like their powerful Gilded Landsknecht. As such, it should be weighed vs the Regnitz Cathedral to see which will give the better boost. The Regnitz Cathedral will likely provide a better bonus should most of the Relics be obtainable, whereas the Burgrave Palace will be better should most of the Relics be already taken.
