This article is about the buildings in Age of Mythology. For buildings in other games, see Building.
Aom building prev

A list of the buildings of Age of Mythology, divided by the civilization that builds them. Unless stated otherwise, all buildings are built by that civilization's respective villager, except for the Norse. Norse villagers cannot build anything except for Farms (and Houses in Retold).

Common properties[]

  • Buildings do not cost food, with the exception of Town Centers (pre-Retold only), Gardens, and Wonders.
  • Buildings have high pierce armor, but low crush armor.

List of buildings[]

This lists buildings which are constructed by a builder unit. Buildings marked with * are not built by workers (foot soldiers for Norse). Unique building upgrades are not listed in this section.

Fortified production[]

Fortress-type buildings are available to all civilizations from the Heroic Age onwards, and are necessary to advance to the Mythic Age (since Retold). They serve as strong defensive buildings and are often where the elite units of a civilization can be trained. Their high garrison space also allows vulnerable units and nearby villagers to garrison inside in case of an attack.

Attributes which are better than the Greek Fortress are marked with a blue background, while those which are worse are marked with red.
