“ | Grants XP for each Technology and Shipment you have gotten so far and get in the future. | ” |
—In-game description |
Bourbon Reforms is a technology available in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition - Knights of the Mediterranean that can be researched at a Trading Post or Tambo built on a House of Bourbon palace. Once researched, it gives 20% of all resources spent on technologies as XP (including Age ups) as well as 60, 140, 200, and 320 XP for each Exploration Age, Commerce Age, Fortress Age, and Industrial Age shipment sent, respectively (including infinite shipments). In general, shipments in each consecutive age can be valued at 300, 700, 1,000, and 1,600 resources. Taking 20% of these numbers gives the 60, 140, 200, and 320. These bonuses are given retroactively, so after researching Bourbon Reforms these effects apply to past and future technologies and shipments.
The technology can be made available at the Native Embassy by shipping the "Ancien Régime" Home City Card as the French, which also converts the player's Native Embassies to Royal Embassies.
Changelog[]
Knights of the Mediterranean[]
- With update 13.58326, the technology has a maximum of 2,000 XP.
Trivia[]
- Bourbon Reforms' initial giving of XP technically has a cap of giving 100,000 XP. However, this would require the player to spend 500,000 resources on technologies or get 313 Industrial Age shipments, which is highly unlikely in any game.
