The Bedouin Skirmisher is a unique light ranged infantry unit of the Ayyubids in Age of Empires IV: The Sultans Ascend. It can only be obtained from the House of Wisdom through the Bazaar branch of the Trade Wing as one of the potential tickets. The cost and amount of units obtained depend on the Age in which the Trade Wing was researched. The Bedouin Skirmisher has an attack bonus versus light infantry units. Bedouin Skirmishers are upgraded for free upon reaching the next Age.
Like all Ayyubid infantry, they can build Mangonels and Springalds in addition to Battering Rams and Siege Towers with no research required.

Tactics[]
Bedouin Skirmishers function similarly to Archers, with an attack bonus against light infantry, including Spearmen. Unlike Archers, this bonus is more general, and applies to all light infantry, allowing the Bedouin Skirmisher to deal bonus damage to Archers, Crossbowmen, and Handcannoneers. As a result, they serve as a more generalized unit that fares well against many types of units.
However, their inability to be trained and reliance on random trades at the House of Wisdom makes them difficult to utilize, and nearly impossible to mass, as the player can never guarantee how many will be available in any given game.

- Originally, the Bedouin Skirmisher had 70/84/101 hit points and dealt 7/9/11 damage, with +7/+9/+11 bonus damage. With patch 11.1.1201, hit points were increased to 80/96/115, damage to 8/10/12, and bonus damage to +8/+10/+12
