“ | Ranged soldiers, ships, and fortifications fire more accurately at moving enemy targets. | ” |
—In-game description |
Ballistics is a common technology in Age of Mythology: Retold, available to research at the Armory once the Heroic Age is reached. It allows all ranged units (archers, ranged infantry, ships, and any other unit shooting projectiles) and buildings to hit moving targets better. It does not affect beam-firing entities like the Petsuchoi or Mirror Towers, as well as lightning-releasing units like Man O' Wars and the Son of Osiris, as their attacks always hit moving units. It also does not affect Town Centers, Village Centers, and Citadel Centers, as they inherently have the effect of Ballistics from the Classical Age onwards.
Throwing Axemen with Huntress' Axe (granted by Skadi) always hit their targets, so in that case this technology has no benefit for them.

History[]
“ | Ballistics is the science of the physical mechanics of projectiles. One of the most crucial aspects of projectile warfare, alongside range and force, was accuracy.
