This article is about the standard building armor class. For general information about buildings in Age of Empires II, see Building (Age of Empires II). |
The standard building armor class (Armor class 21) is an armor class in Age of Empires II. All units that have an attack bonus against this class deal bonus damage against buildings with this armor class.
The standard building armor class is not to be confused with the building armor class (Armor class 11), which also contains all buildings the standard building class contains (plus the Wonder), but takes bonus damage from different units and is affected by other technologies and bonuses. The purpose of having two different armor classes for buildings is to keep Masonry, Architecture, and the base building armor Castles and Walls have from cancelling the attack bonuses infantry units hold against buildings.

Trivia[]
- Despite the tech tree stating that Goth infantry units had +1 attack vs standard buildings, Militia did not receive an attack boost before The African Kingdoms (where Arson was introduced). This is because Militia did not even have a defined 0 attack vs standard buildings. This was corrected with the release of that expansion without explicitly mentioning it.
