Armor class: Shock infantry

The shock infantry armor class (previously known as the eagle warrior armor class) is an armor class introduced in Age of Empires II: The Conquerors. All units that have an attack bonus against this class deal bonus damage against units with this armor class. It was created to make infantry a stronger counter to the Eagle Scout line, since the latter is fast and counters light cavalry and foot archers very effectively, hence it needs a proper counter. It was joined in by units which fulfill a similar role.

Shock infantry units

The following units have the shock infantry armor class and take bonus damage from attacks against this class.

• Eagle Scout - Eagle Warrior - Elite Eagle Warrior
• Fire Lancer - Elite Fire Lancer
• Jian Swordsman (+1) (Wu only)

Anti-shock infantry units

The following units have an attack bonus against the shock infantry armor class. They are sorted descending by the amount of bonus damage they deal. Generally speaking, most infantry units have an attack bonus.
