Armor class: Camel

The camel armor class is an armor class introduced in Age of Empires II HD: The African Kingdoms. All units that have an attack bonus against this class deal bonus damage against units with this armor class. This armor class was introduced for Camels to receive less bonus damage from anti-cavalry attacks.

Before The African Kingdoms was released, camels shared an armor class with ships.

Camel units

The following units have the camel armor class and take bonus damage from attacks against this class. The number in brackets indicates the amount of armor.

• Camel Scout (Gurjaras only) → Camel Rider → Heavy Camel Rider → Imperial Camel Rider (the latter Hindustanis only)
• Mameluke → Elite Mameluke (Saracens only)
• Camel Archer → Elite Camel Archer (Berbers only)
• Flaming Camel (Tatars only)
• Mounted Trebuchet (Khitans only)

The following technology gives the following units an attack bonus against the camel armor class:

• Chieftains (Vikings only)
  • +4 bonus attack
    • Militia → Man-at-Arms → Long Swordsman → Two-Handed Swordsman → Champion
    • Spearman → Pikeman
    • Berserk → Elite Berserk
    • Condottiero (only available if allied with Italians)

Civilization bonuses

• Bohemians: The following units get an attack bonus against the camel armor class:
  • +7 bonus attack
    • Halberdier
