The archer ship, also called arrow ship, is a type of ship in Age of Mythology. It becomes available once the Classical Age is reached, and can be trained at the Dock. It is available by different names for different civilizations:

Tactics[]
Archer ships are critical in gaining control of water, as they are the only warship available in the Classical Age. They are also effective in sinking enemy Transport Ships. Once in the Heroic Age, they will need support from other warships in order to be effective. They deal bonus damage against close-combat ships and Transport Ships. Siege ships will destroy them easily. Naval myth units and coastal siege weapons are also a large threat.
Biremes, the Atlantean archer ships, focus on quantity over quality. They also have a lower attack multiplier against Transport Ships, hence dealing 12.5 damage instead of the standard 18 due to both nerfs.
The Greek hero ship The Argo is also affected by technologies which improve Triremes, while itself not being classified as an archer ship.

- The Argo is not an archer ship, despite benefiting from Arrow Ship Cladding.
- Archer ships cost 2 population, train in 14 seconds, have a speed of 6, Line of Sight of 24, range 12, no garrison capacity, pierce attack 6, 80% accuracy, and 30% hack, 20% pierce and 10% crush armor.
- The Longboat is the only archer ship capable of transporting units, and moves at a speed of 5.5.
- Archer ships are upgraded by researching Arrow Ship Cladding.

- The Argo is classified as an archer ship as well.
- Archer ships (except The Argo) cost 3 population, train in 16.5 seconds, have a speed of 5.5, Line of Sight of 20, range 15, 5 garrison capacity, pierce attack 8, 100% accuracy, and 50% hack, 30% pierce and 5% crush armor.
- Archer ships are upgraded by researching Heavy Warships and Champion Warships in the Heroic and Mythic Ages respectively.
