| โ | Powerful Heavy Infantry trained for free that excels in combat near to Tughlaqabad Forts. | โ |
| —In-game description | ||
The Amir Warrior is a unique heavy melee infantry unit of the Tughlaq Dynasty in Age of Empires IV: Dynasties of the East. It can only be obtained from the Governor of Ajmer at either the Tughlaqabad Fort or the Palace of the Sultan. Amir Warriors are trained for free, do not take up population space, and cannot be converted, but rapidly become weaker if they stray too far from a Tughlaqabad Fort.
Training method[]
Once the Governor of Ajmer is appointed, the building will create one Amir Warrior every 20 seconds up to the allowed maximum based on the level of the Governor. Amir Warriors have no cost and cannot be trained manually.
Ability[]
Tughlaqabad Protector (Passive): When away from a Tughlaqabad Fort, Amir Warrior speed is reduced to 0.75 tiles/s, and they lose -1/-1 armor and -10% maximum hit points every 10 seconds. They immediately regain their full armor and maximum hit points when returning to within the radius.

Tactics[]
While Amir Warriors have similar statistics to a Men-at-Arms, they cannot reasonably fight away from a Tughlaqabad Fort, and so are relegated to a defensive role. They can be thought of as form of emplacement or tower, and do well when defending against melee units or rams.
Amir Warriors do not have to stay near their home Fort, and can be tasked to defend at other locations. The supporting range of the Fort is 6 tiles, or about as far as the default arrows. Stepping back into the range of a Fort will immediately restore an Amir Warrior to its original statistics. If spawned by the Palace of the Sultan, the building generates an aura that supports the Amir Warriors, allowing them to reside near it without penalty.
Amir Warriors do not have an elite upgrade and do not change their statistics across ages, but the level 4 Governor of Ajmer bonus will increase their hit points by 50%.
