History[]
Algirdas (c.โ1296 โ May 1377) and Kestutis (c.โ1297 โ 3 or 15 August 1382) participated in an epic campaign to the west against the Knights of the Teutonic Order and their crusade to destroy the last pagans of Europe; and east to defend the incipient advance of the Golden Horde.
Trivia[]
- The campaign icon is a wolf and a rock with the Lithuanian civilization icon on it.
- The rock most likely represents the engraving of the Pillars of Gediminas (Lithuanian civilization icon) found on a stone on Rambynas Hill.
- The wolf most likely represents the Iron Wolf from Lithuanian folklore, which came to Grand Duke Gediminas in a dream during a hunt where he founded the city of Vilnius.
- Though the campaign name is Algirdas and Kestutis, the campaign file name only labelled as Algirdas, hinting at Algirdas being the main character of the campaign. Coincidentally, the player controls only Algirdas in the Tatar Yoke scenario, and in the final scenario Kestutis is the antagonist.
