Algirdas and Kestutis is a campaign in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Dawn of the Dukes that focuses on the arrival to the throne of Algirdas (c. 1296 – May 1377) in the company of his brother Kestutis (c. 1297 – 3 or 15 August 1382) in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Both participate in an epic campaign to the west against the Knights of the Teutonic Order and their crusade to destroy the last pagans of Europe; and east to defend the incipient advance of the Golden Horde.

Algirdas and Kestutis are cavalry heroes with a unique appearance. Both of them appear in some scenarios of the campaign.

Campaign[]

Faced with an impending invasion by the greedy Teutonic Knights, the small principality of Lithuania is on the brink of catastrophe. Divided and without wise leadership, the last pagans of Europe appear doomed, but Prince Algirdas and his loyal brother, Kestutis, refuse to bow to the marauders. Can they repel the crusaders and then contend with the grandsons of Genghis Khan - the fearsome horselords of the Golden Horde?

The Algirdas and Kestutis campaign consists of 5 scenarios. The player plays as the Lithuanians, and the player color is green.

  3. The Tatar Yoke
  4. A Worthy Opponent
  5. In the Shadow of the Throne

The campaign is narrated by the son of Algirdas, Jogaila. Jogaila is the protagonist in the last scenario and ends up being one of the main protagonists in the Jadwiga campaign.
