Akari is a protagonist of the Yasuko's Tale campaign in Age of Mythology: Retold - Heavenly Spear. She is a melee hero who appears in two forms: her regular form armed with her katana, and a cutscene unit armed with the Heavenly Spear.

Special abilities

• Divine Immunity (Passive): Cannot be targeted by god powers which target a single specific unit.
• Sacred Hands (Passive): Can pick up and deposit Relics in Temples.
• Flash Cut (Charged): Instantly dashes forward towards an enemy unit, dealing immense damage to it. (Teleports to an enemy in range 8, dealing ​40  hack damage, with 7× vs. myth units. Cannot be used manually. Recharge time: 12 seconds)

She was the original guardian of Ame-no-Nuboko; however, after Amaterasu's temple was attacked and the sacred spear lost in the chaos, Akari has been searching for it ever since. When she discovers Yasuko wielding the weapon – and tapping into its magical powers – she is initially skeptical. But over time, the two form a powerful alliance.	”
