Technologies[]

I'm thinking about switching the Technologies section to a list, like the Temple and Market, rather than a tree. This format gives brief descriptions of the techs, and resource requirements, in addition to the age and icon that's currently displayed. Does anyone have any objections to this? Sounds good. The tech tree can be moved to the bottom as in the other pages. --  Kronocracy Talk Contribs  11:53, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
Cheers, I'm writing it now. There's something I'd quite like to do differently to the other pages (and in fact could change those pages too if people are on board with it), and again just want to get feedback first.
Normally, we have each page show the state of the unit/building/technology as of the latest version of the game, with any differences in earlier versions noted in tooltips. But the Technologies lists are currently exceptions to this. For example, in Temple (Age of Empires)#Technologies, it states that Fanaticism enables the Legionary upgrade, and you have to check the tooltip to discover that this is only true of earlier versions of the game.
So: should I keep the tooltip format for the Government Center technologies which were prerequisites for other techs in earlier versions of the game (Nobility, Aristocracy, Engineering), or would it be a good idea to use a new format, for example using small text to state that it was only true in earlier versions of the game?
So, currently it would look like this:
Age Technology Cost Effect
Bronze Age Icon (DE) NobilityIcon Nobility 175 food
120 gold
Mounted units (except elephants) have +15% hit points
Enables the Scythe Chariot upgrade
But the new format would look like this:
Age Technology Cost Effect
Bronze Age Icon (DE) NobilityIcon Nobility 175 food
120 gold
Mounted units (except elephants) have +15% hit points
Enables the Scythe Chariot upgrade (before Return of Rome)
Again, just checking which version would be preferred. IiGI-Vertigo (talk) 17:32, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
I absolutely prefer the second method! --  Kronocracy Talk Contribs  19:12, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
